Gone are the days when Summer was the only time to get married. Now, modern couples are opting to marry in all seasons, and Autumn is top on their list.
An Autumn wedding is truly dreamlike, with warm cosey lighting and an abundance of glorious autumnal colours to melt your hearts. That’s why we’ve focussed this week’s blog on all things rustic, colourful, rich, and golden.
Read on to discover our top tips on how to have a heavenly Autumn wedding.
Flowers and Wedding Décor
When planning an Autumn wedding you should definitely include the flowers and colours of the season. So, for colours think deep reds, browns, burnt oranges, purples and bright yellows.
When considering your flowers, think antique roses, dried ferns, viburnum, manuka, carnations, foxgloves, astilbe, and eucalyptus. These will look amazing in Autumn bouquets and as part of the surrounding décor.
TIP: Mix up fresh flowers with dried flowers and feathers, whether that’s in the form of a flower wall or arch, wreaths or centrepiece, this idea will look extremely effective.
We have some fabulous florist on our site, who are incredibly creative and diverse. They would be more than happy to discuss seasonal flowers and autumn colours with you. Check them out here https://bit.ly/3tRTRZA.
When thinking about your décor, consider including trees around the edges of your chosen venue. You can hire fake autumnal-style trees with gorgeous autumnal colours, and then entwine them with fairy lights (you can never have enough fairy lights!).
It’s Autumn, Halloween season, so pumpkins should be everywhere! Large, small, medium, they will look fantastic next to your aisle, or as a table number holder. You could even give your guests a pumpkin as a wedding favour.
When considering your table decorations, you could use anything from pinecones, dried fruits such as oranges, leaves, pinecones, height pillar candles, lanterns, and moss.
These will work beautiful coupled together and will also look great as neighbouring decor display.
Wedding Themes and Topics For An Autumn Wedding
There are various themes you could go for when considering an autumn wedding and there are some we LOVE over others; vintage, botanical, boho and celestial.
You could also opt for a Halloween themed wedding, which would be great if you wanted a more gothic, spookier feel. This could include using a rustic barn as your venue, and an evening candle-lit ceremony.
Games could include bobbing apples, and guest could be given the option to dress up! You could even opt for a costume! It’s your day! Why the, ‘hell,’ not!
A forest, woodland themed wedding would be lovely. You don’t have to have it outside, you could recreate this inside and use lots of candles, leaves, ferns, acorns, logs, branches, fake trees with lots and lots of fairy lights hugging the areas.
