Unique gift ideas for your wedding party

Are you stuck on ideas on what to get your wedding party as a thank you for being a part of your day? Choosing a gift for a bridesmaid, mother of the bride or best man/woman can be really difficult. There are so many things to think about from personal tastes to budget, and figuring out what the 'right' thing to get can be hard.

Personally, I'm not gifting any of our wedding party. Our family and friends have been pestering us to get married for YEARS so my gift to them is being a part of the wedding (haha).

BUT for those of you who would like to say thank you with a small token of appreciation, we've put together a unique collection of gifts that are a little more inventive than a bunch of flowers or a bottle of rum.

Firstly, I would like to start by saying that nothing says thank you more than a gift that is really well thought out. Make sure whatever you get for each member of your wedding party, it is unique to them and what they like.

For the flower lovers

  • Rather than gifting the usual, one bunch of flowers to the bridesmaids or MOB, why not set up a flower subscription like Bloom & Wild. Your party member will receive a beautiful bunch of flowers through their letterbox every month for up to a year after your wedding.

  • Preserved flowers are another lovely way to give something that will last longer than a week or two. Our favourite are 'infinity roses' that are hand-picked at the height of bloom and preserved to keep for up to three years!

  • As a houseplant lover, I couldn't think of anything more exciting to receive than a new plant to add to my collection. Stick with something that's easy to look after such as a succulent, and pop it in a beautiful pot that your recipient will be proud to show off.

For those who enjoy a bevvie

  • Make it personal with a personalised bottle of their favourite drink. Whether it's champagne, wine or beer, you can personalise just about anything nowadays with the power of the internet

  • Beer/Cocktail making kits are a great gift to give to those who are crafty and also love a drink. Last christmas, Debs bought me a 'make your own gin' kit, which was 1) actually really interesting to make and 2) tasted amazing! There's something super gratifying about sitting down with a homemade G&T.

  • Keep it going with the personalisation and order a tailor made glass for their favourite drink.

For the foodies

So, this category is something I could go on and on with. As this is such a vast option, I'm just going to list a bunch of the food items I think any food lover would love.

  • Chocolate

  • Cheese

  • Personalised Hampers

  • Coffee & Tea

  • Sweets

  • Marshmallows

  • Drinking chocolates

  • Biscuits

  • Infused oils

  • Jams, honeys and preserves

  • Restaurant Gift Cards

  • Dining experiences

(Cheese & Oils from Borough Box | Marshmallows from Naked Marshmallow)

I mean, honestly, I could go on and on but these are my favourites. Included are links to products I LOVE as gifts.

For the pamper lovers

  • We recently helped organise a wedding, where the couple gave personalised and handmade bath salts to their guests as wedding favors. I absolutely loved this idea, and think that it's a really lovely thing to give to someone (who you know loves a soak in the tub). Making my own bath salt mixes at home is something I've taken to doing, and this 'recipe' is one of my faves:

You'll need:

- Small Kilner Jar

- 2 Cups of Epsom Salts

- 3 Tablespoons Bicarbonate of soda (helps relieve skin irritations)

- 15 Drops Geranium essential oil

- 10 Drops Lavender essential oil

- 10 Drops of eucalyptus essential oil

- Handful of dried flower petals and/or lavender

Throw everything in the jar and give a really good shake, and you're done! How easy was that?!

  • Another lovely way to say thank you, is to gift their favourite 'beauty' product. Wether it's perfume, beard oil, mascara or bath oils, gifting someones desired product is something you could never go wrong with.

So, these are my favourite 'unique' gift ideas for your wedding party. Many of these ideas follow the generic concepts with a little personalised twist. My advice would be to really think about the recipient and gift something that you know they're going to love.
